This past month has been one of ups and downs for Stars` End Mining Co.  We have grown considerably thanks to the efforts of all our hard working employees and friends.  Our holdings in the three systems we call home have strengthened greatly and thus the foundations that we have set in place will be immeasurable in their benefits as we continue to grow and flourish in each area.

With the increase in our holdings however, we have been plagued with sadness and wishing departing friends a fond farewell.  Zaina Rey, Extraction Director for Stars` End Mining Co has been reported as missing in action during the supervision of several major construction efforts in the Hosrel system.  Currently her whereabouts are unknown and communications are non-existent.  We at Stars` End Mining Co hope that she will be alright and return to us soon.

Averil Edana, Bartan DeWalt, and Ronald Kovani have decided that it was best to move on to bigger and better opportunities, each of them we wish well in their future careers where ever they end up, and hope to see them back in Stars` End Mining Co space sooner rather than later.  Congrats go out to each of you.

Good news on the leadership side of things has also occurred this past month as well with the return of the Owner and now President of Stars` End Mining.  We welcome back Taldar Logas and hope that we can live up to his expectations as we support him in bringing Stars` End Mining into the next calendar year.

Good evening everyone. Tonight we bring you a classified look into the workings of a Mining Organization that we brought you news on not too long ago. Based on an internal memo that was delivered to our offices just this morning, the information provided within it could bring an increasing boom to the mining industry in the near future. Only time will tell what can happen.

**The camera then focuses on an official document with the Commerce Guild logo and banner imprinted at the top, the anchor’s voice can be heard from behind the scene, reading the document aloud.**

INTERNAL MEMO:

FROM: Jetsi Seejay
TO: All Commerce Guild Department Heads
RE: No more sales outside of the Confederacy of Independent Systems
SECURITY RATING: Internal Use Only

Within a few weeks, the Commerce Guild will be making an major announcement over the GNS. We will be stopping sales of raw materials to factions and individuals not within the Confederacy of Independent Systems. I wanted to let all Departments be made aware of this before it happened, and to let you know why these actions are taking place.

First and foremost, the Commerce Guild iwas created to supply the Trade Federation with a constant, uninterrupted, and reasonably priced supply of raw materials. The massive amount of clients` orders we have from other factions is preventing us from offering this service to the Trade Federation in a timely fashion, this is an unacceptable practice for us.

Second, the Commerce Guild`s secondary purpose is to supply the members of the Confederacy of Independent Systems with the same quality materials and service we provide the Trade Federation. Again, with the overwhelming amount of client orders currently on the books outside sales are preventing us from achieving our goals.

We will still sell raw materials to a few select individuals outside of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, all of them solid and very loyal customers, and that list will soon be made available. If someone thinks they should be on that last and they aren`t, tell them to contact me personally.

I want everyone to rest assured, the Commerce Guild is in no danger from a business standpoint. We have plenty of credits on hand, a large reserve of raw materials, and plenty of raw materials deposits that we haven`t even started mining yet.

Until we make this announcement public, which we plan on doing approximately two weeks from now, keep this information within the Commerce Guild.

**Seeing some new news on the current state of Lant Mining Corporation, your curious to see what has been going on there since Taldar Logas had turned ownership back over to Horley Cyan. Opening the article’s feed the SEE’s circular green logo is revealed.**

**The logo fades out and a news desk fades into view.**

Welcome to tonights report. We have just been granted access to publicize the news on the fate of Lant Mining Corporation. A few days previous to tonight’s exclusive report a quick news event went out across the GNS network stating that Lant Mining Corporation as an organization was dissolved. To the members of Lant Mining this was not a tragic event, in most cases, doing our best to speak with everyone involved, this dissolution was more of a merger with the mining organization of Commerce Guild.

We have had journalists on this story since it first broke on the fateful evening of a mere two weeks ago. Our people have been able to speak with Taldar Logas , former owner of Lant Mining Corporation, he had the following to say:

*The screen shot blurrs and then refocuses to an office where Taldar Logas is going over some paperwork at his desk, in the background you can clearly see a portal with the distinctive lines of hyperspace flowing past it. Every so often can be seen a medical droid coming in and out of the frame to take readings on Mr. Logas’ medical status.*

Never would I have thought that I would see the day when I had to give up Lant Mining Corporation. I continued to put time, effort, sweat and blood into its continuing success and expansion. We had finally come to the day when Lant Mining Corporation’s net worth was over 135 million credits, 25% more than when I had first taken over; I knew Horley Cyan, my mentor would be proud.

As my health was slowly being regained, Horley approached me, just weeks after he had taken control. He had recieved an offer from the Commerce Guild, and offer of a merger the likes the CIS has never seen. Horley was still very busy with his new thriving business, the entertainment group of Star`s End, and I was unable to attend to Lant. With my approval, a contract was then drawn up and signed by both Mr. Cyan and Mr. Seejay. Lant Mining Corp was then absorbed by the Commerce Guild.

I continue to keep tabs on and receive holo-messages from my friends and former employees who transferred with the merger, I have been trying to keep track of all that the Commerce Guild is now doing. My former employees are better paid and happier than ever. Jetsi Seejay had absorbed the orders left in Lant’s que and with the combined mines of the Commerce Guild and Lant Mining Corporation mining was going faster than ever. A recent reassessment of prices had also bennefitted the now combined companies. Things are better than ever and the Commerce Guild is now a much bigger asset to the Trade Federation and the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Looking back from my hospital bed, I cannot think I would have ever given up Lant, but now I can see it was much better for the Confederacy as a whole that I did. Perhaps it was fate, perhaps just chance. Regardless, the merger between the two companies has had a much more profound affect then I could have ever hoped to accomplish during my days as CEO. It was for the best.

Our illustrious leader, as Mr Logas just mentioned was one of the key players in this merger, not only did Mr. Cyan bring the Lant Mining Corporation into the Confederacy of Independent Systems originally, but he was also the key negotiator in the CG/LMC merger talks always with an eye out on behalf of the LMC employees.

*The reporter reaches for his ear piece for a second*

Well gentlebeings of the galaxy at large, it seems that we have been able to locate Mr. Cyan for a few quick words on the CG/LMC merger, our foreign correspondent Ganio Lank has caught up with Mr. Cyan enroute to the Kamparas system.

*The screen jumps to Ganio Lank, a rather familiar face on the Star`s End Entertainment Network*

Thank you, I was lucky to get a few minutes with Horley during his travels. It took some doing but it was worth it to get his side of this story *Ganio smiles into the camera*Horley, if I may have a quick word with you regarding your brief, recent tenure with Lant?

Yes of course. I’m always happy to speak with my fellow colleagues. *Horley’s Smile grows slightly at this comment.*

You left the reins of SEE with Owinn Hanno, for your brief spell with Lant, why were you asked to do this, and by whom?

Well I wasn’t ask to leave SEE, and Owinn always had my full confidence with respect to leading See anyways,. but Taldar Logas, an old friend of mine did ask me to retake ownership of Lant Mining, because of his failing health. However because of such a change in leadership, and because I hadn’t been there for a while, I decided to take the Lead to get a handle on things there.

When you took control what did you find that lead you towards the eventual outcome?

Well it wasn’t what I found that lead to the merger. Lant Mining was an enterprise that just wasn’t for me anymore. Don’t get me wrong, mining is an amazing adventure unto itself, but I have changed since I gave ownership over to my good friend Taldar. I knew that Taldar would be a great leader for LMC, no doubt about it. Once his health started to fail, he wasn’t sure he would return, and it seemed best for all involved including the employees to go through with a merger.. something that has been talked about unofficially several times over the years between out two groups.

So the idea of a merger between Lant and the Commerce Guild was not a new one?

Not at all. actually it was an idea thrown my way when I first started operations up in the Trammis system..

How did the staff take to the idea, were there any threats of industrial action?

*Horley laughed out loud at the thought of his employees, most of them old friends trying to take control of Lant by staging a walkout.*

Heck no. when the deal was basically set, most of the employees were understandably unsure on the future, but i can say for sure that I have talked with several of the people who moved on to Commcerce Guild and most of them got better paying and higher ranking positions than they had with Lant. Plus it doesn’t hurt that Jetsi is a great guy and leader. So if anything staying with me in LMC would have most likely turned into a bad choice for all involved, the whole organization most likely would have eventually fissled out I think.

So are you saying that not all the staff stayed for the merger?

Well I know some of the staff wanted to change their career choices. a couple came to Star`s End and some have gone off to seek their own fortunes elsewhere in the galaxy.

What of the assets and holdings of Lant Mining, have any been sold off in the merger, or was the absorption total?

Well the real estate did go to Commerce Guild, with a lot of it going to the Trade Federation because they were the financier on behalf of CG, but I can say some of the fleet was transferred to Star`s End to help boost its defensive and transport capabilities as we continue to grow ourselves.

So the whole merger has stayed within the CIS?
Yes, it has. I would never even sit and think for but a moment of removing assets of any kind from the CIS, we are family afterall.

I take it that your role and Taldar Logas’s role with mining is now at an end, and that you are committed to SEE for the foreseeable future?

Most definitely yes, Taldar has actually become my Security Director in SEE. at least until his health is stronger, many of his duties right now are in organization and collection of our defensive assets and protocols. Mining was a great enterprise for both of us, but we have moved on to bigger and better things now.

Well that sure throws some light into the whole Merger, it is nice to know that Horley was looking out for his employees at Lant Mining, isn’t it?

*The reporter again reaches for her ear piece where undoubtedly a new piece of news is reaching her*

It seems that the new Viceroy has just released a statement with respect to this merger as well. This is as live as it gets folks, and unedited.

*The screen shows an embedded image of the Viceroy Jacob Jansen in the top right corner, newly appointed to the title of Viceroy in the Trade Federation.*

I was thrilled at the chance to strengthen the Commerce Guild with this merger. I am confident that the absorption of Lant Mining holdings will only enhance the already amazing ability of the Commerce Guild to satisfy their customers and the Trade Federation. Sadly Lant Mining Corporation is no more, but we are all very happy indeed to see members of Lant Mining decide to join the Commerce Guild family. Their experience will no doubt be a great advantage to their new employers, and thus benefit us all.

*The camera pans back to the news reporter.*

I was able to obtain some final words on the subject from none other than the leader of the Commerce Guild himself, Jetsi Seejay. A relatively new and up and coming leader within the Confederacy, but from what has been said so far about this guy, he will be one to watch closely over the coming months and years. Big things will be coming out of his offices, I’m sure. We now take you to a correspondent out of the Vinsoth System with words from Jetsi Seejay, Randy are you there??

Yes I am here, and thank you for the intro my good being, I have with me Jetsi Seejay of Commerce Guild, we do appreciate you giving us a few minutes of your obviously busy time sir.

Not at all my friend, happy to boost not only your ratings but my own image in the process.

*Mr Seejay is seen chuckling at his little joke. *

What first went through your head when Mr. Cyan came to you about Lant Mining?

*Jetsi Seejay thought about it for a second, before making a reply.*

When Master Cyan approached me with the suggestion of a merger between the Commerce Guild and the Lant Mining Corporation, I was extremely excited. The prospect of being able to join our two great companies into one large mining faction powerhouse was an opportunity of a lifetime.

*The reporter nods.*

My sources tell me that there were some big employee changes during the merger, care to comment on that?

*Jetsi Seejay had a mild look of shock for a moment, and it faded in the next.*

Your sources are quite accurate my friend. *Jetsi Seejay’s smile returns.*

All members of Lant Mining Corporation have been offered employment with the Commerce Guild, and many have taken that opportunity. A few senior members have taken significant positions within the Commerce Guild, namely Gadon Trammer as the new Director of Sales and Cally Thompson as the new Director of Security.

*Jetsi Seejay takes a moment to reach of a drink just off camera, he takes a sip and then replaces the glass on the desk just off screen.*

I am extremely pleased with the number of Lant Mining Corporation members who have accepted a position within the Commerce Guild, We have a great work environment, outstanding wages, and excellent secondary benefits program. I look forward to a long term relationship with all of our new employees.

**While you are going through the local news channels’ downloads, you find an article reporting the death of a once powerful and famous being.
The screen fades in to show the bright green circular logo of the Stars`End Entertainment company. As the logo fades to black, a scene of great resolve fades onto the screen. **
This information has come from a rather quiet source from within the Hapan News Network.

It has just come to our attention that a great tragedy has occurred. According to local authority sources and a wide range of witnesses, Nereus Eruresto’s shuttle was seen flying out of control and unfortunately out of the reach of emergency forces in the Hapes Cluster. Nereus Eruresto, a former duceroy in the Trade Federation was reported working within the External Affairs department of the Trade Federation.

It was last reported that he had been working tirelessly to bring stronger public relation ties between the Trade Federation and several other as yet un-named governments and factions.
With his shuttle running out of control and subsequently hitting a bursting sun-flare, we have been told by local authorities that Mr. Eruresto died instantly and with a high probability of no major pain. The sun-spot was a freak of nature, local astro-physistists claim.
He was a great distance away from the terminal threshold of the sun and play backs of the accident did show that Mr. Eruresto was indeed starting to gain control of his ship, a pnath shuttle.

Indeed it is a sad day for all of the Confederacy, Nereus Eruresto was one of the three top Trade Federation leaders who had thought out the idea for originally forming the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

As of today, there has been word coming through out our networks saying that many different memorial services will be happening throughout Confederacy Space.
We were lucky to receive a statement from a long time friend of Nereus Eruresto, Horley Cyan. Horley Cyan and Nereus Eruresto worked together closely with not only the creation of the Corporate Alliance, currently a member of the CIS, but throughout many other projects over the course of their affiliations. It was thanks to Nereus’s work and recommendations that Horley Cyan was appointed as Viceroy of the Trade Federation himself. Mr. Cyan was found enroute to the planet of Tarrhubbas in the Kamparas system where we were first to give him the news of his old friend’s death.

He had this to say:
“When I first heard the one of my oldest friends was gone, all I could do with put my ship into auto-pilot. We had known each other for so many years, we helped each other through many good times and many bad times. It was because of Nereus and his ideals that kept the Trade Federation and helped found the Confederacy. He undoubtedly shaped my path through this galaxy in many more ways than i could care to imagine and I for one will sorely miss him. With that being said, I have currently made a detour to my current travels and will thus be heading to the temples of The Order of Kampar to properly celebrate the life and legacy of one of my dearest friends, and I hope that my celebration with some of his closest friends will be enough to honour the barabel that he was. “ Horley then looks off to some distant point just off to the right and imaginably behind the holocam for approx 1 minute. Then bringing his eyes back to the camera one can easily see the watering of Horley’s eyes.
“I will miss you old friend, and I hope to meet up with you once again.”
With that being said, the holocom shut off and the news reporter became the focus of the story once again, her normally cheerful attitude and sense of adventure now replaced with the grief that was clearly conveyed by Horley Cyan’s holographic statement.
We will update you shortly with a list of locations that will be holding memorial services for former Duceroy Nereus Eruresto as well as hear from some other of his friends as the days progress.

**Your datapad beeps insistently and as you look down to acknowledge the new GNS topic, your interest is peaked when you see the headline of a new entertainment organization was founded recently**

*The screen fades from black to a scenery of blue skies and a panoramic view of a majestic and rocky landscape, with plenty of construction going on in the background and a large

crowd of people in front of a newly constructed Conference Center. The point of view from the holocam slowly zooms in where a large stage has been built at the front doors of the building. On that Stage are a number of people including a Devaronian and a Polis Massan. Both are chatting with what appears to be governmental officials. With a sweeping camera shot of the crowds, the atmosphere is one that is filled with celebration. As the camera view gets closer and closer to centering on the podium at the middle of the stage, it can clearly been seen that a signal is given to both the Devaronian and Polis Massan who easily detach themselves from their conversations and make their ways to the podium and the microphones situated upon it. The crowd’s volume grows and some music is started up by a band off to the left of the stage.

The Devaronian makes his way to the podium first with a large friendly smile and waving to all the crowd.*

“Welcome to all of you, we are here today to officially announce a couple of major things that have happened in the last week or so. First off, a new entertainment organization has been officially registered with the galactic business community. That organization is Stars` End Entertainment, and within the last week we have been in negotiations with the current planetary officials of our HQ planet and they have asked us to agree to help in the advising of political matters with respect to the planetary government. A responsibility that we take very seriously, and as such we will endeavor to continue to help with the development of this planet that we all call home.

With that being said, I would like to introduce you all to the leader of our little entertainment group, Mr. Owinn Hanno. Mr Hanno will be leading this team into an era of major prosperity and development, we met through a mutual friend of mine long ago; a fellow prophet and good friend of mine from the distant system of Kamparas. Mr Hanno, would you like to say a few words?”

*The applause broke out in waves of appreciation as Horley Cyan stepped back and Owinn Hanno took his place at the Podium. With the crowds keeping up the volume Owinn Hanno stood patiently trying to get the crowds to settle enough for him to speak. Within a few moments the crowd settled and the holocom flashes slowed.*

“Greetings fellow citizens, I had a speech prepared for this wondrous occasion but I just don’t think it captures the feelings of what we have accomplished here today. So I speak to you now straight from the heart when I say that I am so proud of each and every one of our hard working employees that have made this dream of mine and so many others come true. To you the citizens that have chosen to live in our newly constructed cities and those to come, I promise to make your quality of life here with us the best it can be. With our new information technologies, we will be able to provide you the greatest level of security by knowing what is going on well in advance. Not only that, but we will bring to your home the very best that entertainment has to offer. Thank you.”

*At this point Horley Cyan returned to the podium with a few more words to be said to the crowds.*

“Not only have we got an aggressive development strategy being implemented as we speak,” with this a screen slides down into view from above the screen showing several different views of the construction that has been going on as of late around the planet. Big machines are pictured everywhere moving materials, getting skeleton structures in place, people hustling from one side of the screen to the other making sure that each and every task is being completed properly. “We also have big plans in place that will continue to grow our burgeoning economy and colonize the four corners of this great planet, with of course your help.”

*The crowds’ volume grew once again, Horley was practically shouting over the crowds cheering as his final words were spoken into the microphones.*

“I give you the logo of the Stars` End Entertainment Organization,” A cord is pulled from just beside the podium and the gray tarp that was covering a major portion of the highest tower on the conference senter, fell away revealing a great circular symbol. “May this symbol of who we are, a symbol that to me represents different groups, cultures, and species coming together to work on a common goal bring as much pride upon viewing it in the coming months as it does to me upon revealing it today.”

With that Horley Cyan and Owinn Hanno made their way off the podium and back towards the planetary officials area off to the side of the stage where flash bulbs went off in a wave of light and handshakes and smiles were plentiful.

The screen fades to the Stars` End Entertainment Logo and then fades to black.
